The Great British Railway Journey - BBC2 6.30pm 29th March 2024

In this episode of the Great British Railway Journey Michael Portillo visits The Manus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum where he discovers the work of Joseph McKenzie.  

The episode covers examples of McKenzie's work taken between 1964 and 1986 during which he compiled an extensive social documentary study of the changing face of Dundee. The episode also visits the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art where Joseph McKenzie taught photography. The Manus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum holds the largest collection of work of nearly 1,000 images outside of McKenzie's extensive life time archive.
