The Joseph McKenzie Archive
The Joseph McKenzie photographic archive comprises of a vast number of studies and individual works taken from 1946 until his death in 2015. His work covers his youth and travels; his time served in the RAF; his training years at London College of Printing; his period of teaching at St Martin's School of Art where he established photography including his fashion work; a large number of studies recording post-war London; several major social documentary essays and studies produced while teaching and establishing photography at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee based on life in Scotland and Ireland; later he also produced over 15,000 digital colour images.
Joseph McKenzie was also a prolific writer having produced an autobiography; keeping regular daily diaries and wrote over 3,000 poems.
