Caledonian Images was the first photographic exhibition to receive a grant from The Scottish Arts Council and toured Scotland in 1969. The exhibition was dry mounted on chip board and was presented unglazed and unprotected. As part of McKenzie's ambition to elevate photography to being accepted as 'Fine Art' the exhibition endured damage through mishandling and poor packaging during its travels around Scotland.
